Reuse / Tip Shop Guidelines
The Shire of Nannup encourages and welcomes the public to offer useful items up for reuse-resale through the Tip Shop and will continue to collect items if suitable for resale. There are however guidelines that must be adhered to in order to remain compliant with the regulations surrounding these activities. To avoid confusion around the suitability of items to be offered for sale/free to good use, please either refer to documentation attached; speak to the Waste Site Attendant or contact the Shire Administration office prior to taking your items out to the Waste Management Site. Read more on the Nannup Tip Shop guidelines here.
Recycling
If you are a resident out of town and you take your recycling to the Waste Management Facility, there are some changes happening with the recycling process. From now on, only cardboard and paper will go into the large recycling container.
Plastic, Glass, steel, and aluminum will go into the recycling wheelie bins. All 10c containers must be placed into the Lions Containers for Change bins, or dropped off at an alternative Containers for Change location. You may like to sort your recycling into categories at home to save you time when you get to the Waste
Site!
Thank you for your assistance, these changes have been implemented to make recycling more efficient and economical.
Feel free to chat to our friendly Waste Site Attendants if you have any questions.
If you are a resident in town and your recycling is picked up, all collected recyclables will be sorted at the material recovery facility (MRF) in Gandy St Manjimup. At the moment collected recyclables from Bridgetown-Greenbushes, Nannup and rural bulk recycling bins from the Shire of Manjimup are being processed at that site.
Occupiers / Owners of Dwellings
If you are renting or occupying a dwelling you will need to obtain a tip pass from the owner of the premises. Alternatively you can purchase a tip pass from the Shire.
Asbestos
Asbestos can be accepted at the Waste Management Facility but is subject to special controls. It is advisable to contact the contractor managing the site to arrange for disposal.
