Important Notice: Burn Periods in the Shire of Nannup

Published on Wednesday, 26 March 2025 at 4:23:38 PM

What does this mean?

You must have a PERMIT TO BURN from your area's Fire Control Officer (FCO). Fire Control Officers are found under Fire & Emergency on this website. Check the Shire's website for the current end date of the Restricted Burn Period as it may have been updated.

What do I need to know?

Before applying for your permit, please read the relevant information on this website, especially the current  ‘Bushfire Risk Compliance Notice’.
Hardcopies of this and other helpful DFES publications on safe burning practices are also available at no cost from the Shire office.

You must comply with all requirements:

  • As advised by the Fire Control Officer
  • As stated on your Permit document
  • As per the current Bushfire Risk Compliance Notice
  • As set out by the Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES)

Call 000 early if you require assistance to control an escaped burn.

If you need help or want to learn more, consider joining one of the Shire's Brigades.

There are many roles and training opportunities available.

Stay safe, everyone!
