We need your help to make our town a welcoming place for everyone. By participating in the Southern Forests and Valleys Tourism Accessibility Facilities Survey, you can help us identify and improve accessible features across our region. Your input is invaluable in ensuring that all visitors, regardless of their physical, sensory, or cognitive needs, can enjoy everything our town has to offer.
What We're Looking For:
- Attractions: Do you know places with wheelchair access, ramps, step-free entries, accessible pathways, and lookouts? How about sensory-friendly environments, quiet spaces, inclusive play parks, or activities designed for visitors with cognitive or sensory sensitivities?
- Trails: We're interested in nature trails that are wheelchair-friendly with paved or boardwalk paths. Trails with clear signage for visitors with vision impairments or quiet, less-stimulating environments for those with sensory sensitivities are also important.
- Accessible Accommodation: Can you recommend hotels, motels, or B&Bs with ramps, accessible bathrooms, ground-floor rooms, visual alarms for the hearing impaired, and staff trained to assist guests with various needs?
- Dining Options: We're looking for cafes and restaurants with step-free entrances, wide aisles, accessible seating, menus in braille or large print, and quiet dining areas for guests with sensory needs.
- Accessible Facilities: Help us find disabled parking, restrooms, and service points that accommodate wheelchairs and offer features like tactile guides for the visually impaired, clear signage, and noise-reduced environments.
- Transportation & Support Services: Do you know of transport services or shuttles that offer wheelchair access, hearing aid-compatible communication devices, or sensory-friendly transport options for those with cognitive or sensory challenges?
Your feedback will help us create a more inclusive and enjoyable experience for all visitors. Thank you for your support!
